Community Needs Forum

Monday, October 4th 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM

Atonement Lutheran Church

With a vision statement that calls on us to go to “people in need” it doesn’t take long before we begin to ask; “Which people, what needs?”

All of us encounter people with needs just in the course of our day-to-day lives.  So, one answer to the question is usually right at hand.  Go to the person who’s right in front of you.

But we’re also a community church and we want to make a difference in the community around us.  This Community Needs Forum will help us to get a clearer picture of “who are the people in the neighborhood” (as they say on Sesame Street) and what some of their actual needs are.

The forum will begin with a summary of key demographics and trends in the community, presented by Matt Fulton, City Manager for the City of New Brighton.  Then we’ll hear from several people with direct ties to the community, bringing observations from their unique perspectives.  We’ll conclude with some time for questions and open discussion.
