Delivery Week November 7 - 13 |
|
|
During these seven days in November, we’re going to touch the lives of people in our community in as many ways as we can with acts of love and kindness. Here’s a list of some of the ideas we’re pursuing. If the name is in -GREEN- then it’s definitely a “GO”. If it’s in BLACK then we’re still looking for the volunteers or leaders needed to make it happen.
You can sign up now for any of these activities! You can submit your own ideas!

Bread Give-away |
We’ll order loaves of high quality bread from Natural Ovens Bakery www.naturalovens.com and have them available for you to pick up on Sunday November 7th. You can give them away to your friends and neighbors, or join a team and give them out door-to door around the church! Each loaf comes with the Lord’s Prayer on the label, as well as several additional Bible verses, and we’ll also add our own information about Atonement. |

Smoke Detector Batteries |
The Fire Department recommends changing the batteries in your smoke detectors at least twice a year. When’s the last time you changed yours? What about all our neighbors out there? Join a team and go door-to-door giving away replacement batteries to make our community safer and demonstrate God’s love and concern! |

|
|
Bus Stop Caramel Rolls |
Join a team to bake fresh caramel rolls and then give them away to people waiting for the bus as they prepare to go to work. Talk about a day brightener – especially on a cold Monday morning in November! We’ve done this before, it’s great fun and the people love it! |

|
Hot Chocolate at Cub |
This summer we’ve had a great time giving away root beer floats at the Cub grocery store across the street. Shoppers were delighted (though sumtimes suspicious that these were really free) and there were many good conversations that sprung up. Join a team and share some warmth and sweetness while giving people an experience of a gift that’s really free – just like God’s love. |

Music and Song |
How about delivering God's Love by carrying a tune? You can just grab some hymn books or song sheets and a few singers and head right out to lift the spirits of folks in a nursing home - or anywhere! Just think about how many songs you could sing right away even without a rehearsal. Got someone with a guitar or a pitch pipe? So much the better! Let us know if you're interested in delivering in song. |

Purposeful Acts of Kindness |
Here’s one you can do on your own… all during the Delivery Week, put a rubber band on your wrist as a reminder and “Join the PAK” of people who are looking every day for opportunities to do a Purposeful Act of Kindness. A great activity for the whole family! Be sure to share some of your stories with us for the celebration on November 21st. |
