Public Education Forum to be held at Atonement
Lutheran Church
On Monday, January 31 from 7 – 9 p.m.
Atonement’s ISAIAH core team will be holding a Public Education
Forum at Atonement to discuss public
education issues and policies important to our local school districts. Through
public education, our democracy
revitalizes itself.
As followers of our faith, we want our public lives to reflect our values and passions. We want to use our energies to effect positive change in the life of our cities. Our shared values with other congregations in ISAIAH led us to identify public education as the most critical issue in our community.
Jesus teaches us to love our neighbors as ourselves. A way to do this is to balance our individual needs with the needs of our schools and communities. As Jesus loved people from all walks of life, so must we show our love to all children through equitable education.
We are inviting legislators, superintendents, school board members,
principals and congregations
from Columbia Heights, Fridley, Mounds View and New Brighton.
There are several things you can do to make this forum a success:
1. Pray for guidance and clear thinking as we invite people to the forum and
finalize the plans.
2. Invite people to attend and plan on attending yourself.
3. Help with: set up/clean up, greeting, ushering and other detail items on
Jan. 31.
4. Make goodies to offer guests.
